This was my most favorite beach! Crystal clear blue water and powdery white sand like no other! The sand goes out forever, you can swim so far out and still be swimming over sand. Felt like a giant pool. Some waves near shore are good...More

I only went to 4 or 5 beaches but, of those, this one consistently had the best waves for body surfing. It was a bit cramped and crowded whenever I went but if you spend most of your time in the water, like me, it...More

You have to visit this beach! It is beautiful, tons of room on the beach; great waves; so much fun! The ultimate "hawaii" beach.

We had the best time at this beautiful beach. Plan well and go first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds and to be able to grab a good spot to plant your umbrella. We found the beach to be clean and it had...More

Kua is a really nice swimming beach (unless there is a high wave warning, then be very cautious). There is ample sand, a bathroom and a food truck is almost always at the entrance to the beach area. There is a little climb down lava...More

Spent an afternoon here on the boards and snorkeling, clean showers and toilets to wash the sand away. Some good waves and clear sea, didn't see many fish but maybe we went a little late in the day.

As beautiful as the pictures. Low key gem of a beach! Great day in the sun. Water is crystal clear. Highly recommend spending a day here. Pack some snacks and food.

Easy to get to from all the major resorts (Fairmont, Mauna Lani Bay, Four Seasons). Parking can be limited, but there’s a public restroom and outdoor shower area. The beach itself is beautiful. White sand with turquoise water. Water gets deep fast especially if there...More

it's been a few months since I've been there so I don't remember perfectly. I *think* the access road does not close, so it is always open. if the road has a barrier, there wll be a sign and if so, pay attention to it... More

From Hwy 19 north of Kona airport, look for the sign "West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery". Instead of going inland to the cemetery, drive opposite towards the sea. From the parking at the end of the access road, it is only few... More
