Fabulous day on this trip with Fair Winds II, especially for the novice snorkelers in our group. Excellent location with lots of fish to see in very clear water. Very helpful, polite, knowledgeable, and fun crew to spend the morning with.

Loved the trip along the coast with continental breakfast. Snorkel for an hour then grilled burgers and dogs. We snorkeled another hour. The crew was great and extremely friendly and helpful, full of information and definitely care about the ocean. I saw at least a dozen different fish, Captan Cooks memorial and spinner dolphins. I will take this trip again... More

The Fair Wind's Manta Ray dive is slightly more expensive than some of their competitors, but you get soooo much more from Fair Winds - nicer boat, better staff, high staff-to-guest ratio, nicer equipment, better food, and the easiest/fastest trip to the manta site. You won't regret it!

This was our 3rd trip with Fair Winds. We specifically go to the Big Island to snorkel with them. They have an exclusive permit to moor inside the Capt Cook marine sanctuary so you are very close to the fish. Much closer than any other vessel. Their boat provides a lot of shaded seating up and downstairs, has really nice... More

The crew was friendly and easy going, the food was good (especially the mini frittatas!), and the snorkeling was excellent. We even saw baby reef sharks, thanks to a tip from the crew! And the 3 1/2 year old in our group, who isn't comfortable putting his face in the water, got to see fish through a little window in... More

We did the manta ray night dive; holy cow - amazing. Diver Dan and the crew were clear and thorough (with a little added humor) on safety and rules when interacting with the mantas. I felt they had a great deal of respect for the animals as well as the experience of their guests. We had one person in our... More

Great attentive crew, good equipment and plenty of fresh fruit in the morning with hamburgers for lunch. Best operations in Kona, I highly recommend the FAIR WIND and I have been on a number snorkel and dive trips over the past 25 years.

We took the morning cruise which served breakfast along with bbq lunch. Both meals were ample. Relaxing trip both directions. Friendly and very efficient crew! Snorkeling was great, and those slides..... very fun! The crew is attentive while guests are snorkeling, so all feel very safe. Thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone.

We did the morning tour which leaves at 8am. The crew on board were very attentive and really friendly. Kayce and Boce were especially great! It takes about 45 mins to get to the snorkel spot. The boat ride to and from can be a little rough so if you get sea sick take some tablets or sit at the... More

We enjoy the snorkeling trip to Captain Cook's Monument. We have done it each time we have visited Kona. We take the afternoon trip and the water has always been warm and the views spectacular. The ride over to the cove is fun-porpoises and whales are usually sighted. The gear is provided and the cove never disappoints us. We have seen... More
