Description:

Major Marine Tours offers two thrilling full day cruises into the Kenai...

Major Marine Tours offers two thrilling full day cruises into the Kenai Fjords National Park, where wildlife is abundant and tidewater glaciers are massive. Covering 120 miles, you can choose between a 6 hour or 7.5 hour tour, and all trips are hosted by a National Park Ranger. At the glaciers you'll often witness calving - a process by which glaciers shed giant blocks of ancient ice. This area is also home to a wide variety of animals including whales, sea lions, seals and sea otters, as well as an abundance of birds including puffins and eagles. You can enhance your experience with our Alaska salmon and prime rib buffet, freshly prepared on board the vessel. All guests are guaranteed reserved seating inside our heated cabins.

With the 7.5 hour tour, we had the time to get really close to the glaciers, watching and listening to them creak and calve. We also saw whales, sea otters, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, puffins, and eagles. The larger cruise ships (which we were on later in our trip) can't compare. The smaller ship was able to make us... More

Major Marine Tours is one of two 'big boat' tour companies in Seward. Both offer excellent experiences but they do differ in many aspects. Check out both to see the company that best matches your style. Either way...you can't go wrong. Both companies are totally class acts. (NOTE: there are a number of smaller boat operations that can give more... More

This tour was exceptional. We chose the small ship which went on the longest cruise and it was a day to remember. Excellent wildlife spotting and very professional service from the company. I would highly recommend.

When my friend and I decided to do a bay tour, we were unsure of who to go with. We were so glad that we went with Major Marine tours. We went out on the last boat of the day. The boat wasn't crowded which was nice because everyone could get up and take pictures from pretty much anywhere without... More

Usually we don't splurge on this type of activity but this cruise was worth every penny spent and the best tour we have ever been on! Total was $368 for 2 adults on July 2nd and included a Salmon and Prime Rib Buffet meal and Dessert Bar and 7.5 hour cruise. Surprisingly wasn't too crowded either -we were always able... More

We took the dinner cruise. The food was awesome and plentiful. The ranger on board was very informative and had programs for kids to get a Jr Ranger badge.

This tour provided so much wildlife viewing, one would have thought it was staged or part of a theme park. We had a good guide who not only seemed to enjoy the wildlife as much as we did but really took his time to ensure we had the right vantage points to see the whales,

We were scheduled for a full 6 hour Resurrection Bay/Kenai National Park glacier view tour, but, due to 4' seas and high winds, it was cut short by about 2 hours. However, "discretion is the better part of valor". A U.S. Park Ranger is also on board and gives history and other interesting commentary as the cruise progresses. The Captain... More
