If you are doing a road trip and not on a cruise in AK, this opportunity should not be missed. It is worth the price and then some. The captain is very knowledgable and entertaining. You will learn a lot if you listen to him. The sightseeing in Juneau is great-especially the Mendenhall Glacier. Check out the Red Dog Saloon... More

We liked this tour with the fast ferry really much. You can spot loads of animals like seals, whales and eagles. After the boat ride you have around 2-3 hours to spend in Juneau. After that you go with the bus to the Mendenhall glaciers and then back to Skagway. We really can recommend this tour.

1st let me say that Captain George and first mate Anna were incredible to travel with! The Fjordland is a catamaran capable of holding about 40 passengers. Thus is an all day event. Pickup st the dock in either Skagway or Haines then proceed down the fjord to Juneau. You will see lots of interesting things on the way. George... More

We took this trip out of Haines. As others have indicated the captain and crew are outstanding. Riley runs around the boat making sure everyone is offered beverages, hands out the food and clears up the mess. Busy bee! The captain really knows the area and keeps on point about the mountains, watefalls, glaciers, wildlife and history of the area.... More

We did the round trip tour from Skagway and had a wonderful time. They took lots of time on the return trip to find and watch whales. Very knowledgeable and hard working staff. I was told about this trip 3 times all by strangers raving about the tour. I now see why! If you have time to do the full... More

Our trip was from Skagway to Juneau and return. The only reason I rate the experience 4 and not 5 was the weather we had was not good and the cruise line obviously cannot control that. They did make the best of it....we spent more time than planned searching for whales which we did see. The crew and captain were... More

There's no whale-watching on the Haines-to-Juneau ride; but they don't tell you that till you're on the boat. We changed our travel planes from a plane to this ferry (which costs somewhat more than a plane), specifically to see whales, and were extremely disappointed that whale-watching only happens on the Juneau-to-Haines direction. They should make this much, much clearer on... More

Wildlife and whale sightings change throughout the summer. The first half of the summer we see whales both directions and later in the season we see whales more on our afternoon trip. Most of our customers travel round trip and those passengers see whales, sea lions, seals, eagles and porpoise every day. Those traveling one-way may or may not get... More

Don't do it. Deceptive Advertising!! It's a just a really expensive ferry ride. Not one attempt to whale watch which they advertise on their website. "Whale watching on every trip." Didn't see anything. We even asked he captain. He just said whales aren't near there. He only cares about customers who were going to the airport. Then we arrive at... More

We took the day trip from Skagway to Juneau and back. The boat is very comfortable, with lots of windows. The captain is quite skilled and provides great commentary. There were lots of stops along the way to view wildlife and geographical features. We saw Stellar sea lions, seals, porpoises, whales, otters, and tons of eagles. The boat ride to... More

Fjordland to Juneau and back is a day trip that has been planned to the “T.” Every moment is something new, whether the scenery, shopping in Juneau, the Mendenhall Glacier, or wildlife sighting. Captain Glen scouted out both orcas and humpbacks for us. Riley served us a continental breakfast and then a light supper on the boat, all with a... More
