I'd wanted to do this for years, and this trip did not disappoint! We started with a short drive out to the Chilkoot Trail head. The two mile hike was a little strenuous, with some ups and downs. If you walk at all, the trek should not be a problem for you, just read what they say on their website,... More

Thanks for taking the time this winter to write your review for our tour last summer. We are glad you enjoyed the adventure on the Chilkoot Trail and Taiya River! More

This is a great tour! Beautiful, calm float down the river. The tour guide, Becca, met us at the end of the Skagway pier with a identification sign. We drove in a van with another couple (tour can have up to a dozen people) for about 25 minutes through the town and nearby forest and stopped to take a scenic... More

Very nice experience! Our guide, Bob, was knowledgable about the area and made us discover this beautiful part of Alaska. The hike was fun and Bob shared with us a lot of information regarding nature and animals living in this area. When we reached the river, it was well organized and we had access to rain boots and bags to... More

Our guide Brooke led us on a short walk at the start of the White Pass trail over which thousands of hopeful gold prospectors and more than a few less well-intentioned men and women made their way up into the Yukon during the Gold Rush in search of riches. Our gentle walk was far shorter and less arduous but equally... More

We booked the Triple adventure tour (bike, hike, float) through Alaska Shore Excursions. The first part, biking, is handled by Sockeye Cycle Co. After the 5 mile ride you meet up with the Alaskan Float Tour Co. for the hiking and rafting portion. The hike on the Chilkoot Trail is wonderful. Becca our guide was very nice and friendly and... What an awesome excursion this was! Our guide, Becca, was outstanding! She was knowledgeable, personable and just a whole lot of fun! We had a great hike and then enjoyed a float down the river. It was beautiful!! My husband and I booked this excursion independent of the cruise line. We were the only 2 on this excursion and were... More

This was one of my favourite activities in Alaska - it also helped that we had the most beautiful sunny day! We booked the tour directly through their website before we headed off on our cruise and was met at the port in Skagway by our guide to go by van to the start of the hike trail. Our guide... More

Brooke was a terrific guide. She allowed us to do the hike at our own pace and had alot of information throughout the tour. We had a history of Skagway lesson as well as info on the eco system, edible plants and berries and were able to see a few bald eagles on the rafting portion of the tour. We... More

Many experiences are measured comparatively and consequently, I am left to measure this experience against a float trip in Teton National park last summer. By contrast there is no comparison. Unfortunately this trip seemed like a manufactured excursion through somewhat uninspiring terrain;if that is possible in Alaska. Uneventful but comfortable. On a positive note, our guide (Brook) did all she... More

We are sorry the tour did not measure up to the Grand Teton float tour. We agree that is an incredibly majestic and scenic part of our country. We are glad you enjoyed Brooke's company during the tour. We strive to share stories and information about our area while on the tour (including our unique Gold Rush history and nature... More

Brian our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the rainforest and the river. Our hike was incredible, although we didn't see any bears we did get to see some fresh bear tracks and a harbor seal enjoying his salmon catch. The hike takes you up into the rainforest on a narrow, rocky path so make sure you have good... More
