Join us on the Chilkoot Trail Hike and Float as you retrace the steps of the gold seekers of 1898 on the Historic Chilkoot Trail. You will begin your journey in Skagway with a 20min drive out to the Chilkoot Trail head. From there you will embark on a 2 mile hike (350 ft elevation gain) lead by our very knowledgeable guides, as they tell you stories of the gold rush, point out flora and fauna along the trail, and look for signs of wildlife. Once your hike is complete, you will enjoy a scenic float on our 18ft ore framed rafts down the Taiya river (no white water). Once at the take out, enjoy warm beverages and a snack before heading back to town.

I took this as an excursion from the Princess Cruise. I guess this tour company is the same one as I took, judging from the color of boat and life jackets. Our group was small group, less than 10 in number. The hike is moderate, but one with knee and back problems should avoid this tour. It was cloudy, but... More

Our guide Zach was exceptional..His love of the area was evident and loved his explanation about the glacial landscape. Not an easy hike, lots of climbing up and down, but Zach made sure we got lots of rest stops along the way. Saw bald eagles and Tom Hanks ( the lonely seal) on the rafting trip. Highly reccommend this to anyone... More

We had a blast with Jeremy as our tour guide. He is very knowledgeable of the history of the path, as well as the plant and animal life that you find on it. He was very accommodating of us taking lots of pictures and even suggested it a few times.

I'm not sure anything was more fun than our hike along the Chilkoot Trail with Becca as our guide. From a scenery perspective, this feels like walking through Middlearth. The hike is moderately physical, however a couple that joined us with an older (70s) gentleman using a cane was able to keep up, so don't be daunted by the idea... More

Our very knowledgeable guide, Zach, led us on an wonderful hike. Zach went into great detail explaining how the area was created and I left with a better understanding of what happens after a glacier retreats and a forest "moves in". Four of us traveling together (all in our mid-60's) in reasonably good shape made it with only the occasional... More

Our guide Bob was quite knowledgable and friendly enough. I respect anyone who takes pride in their work and shares their wisdom on the Alaskan hinterlands; although he was a bit grumpy and unnecessarily snapped at a fellow hiker for picking more than the two berries he told us we could forage. I do think that float trip toward the... More

Our guide Zach did and amazing job of leading us through the resin forest terrain and river float! This would be strenuous for older folk who aren't in shape. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Very fun hike of moderate difficulty and length. Walking poles are provided if desired, hiking boots recommended. Our guide Zack was awesome, very informative and funny! Would recommend taking this excursion with Zack if possible. The hiking trail provided a close up view of the beauty of Skagway's forests. The river float was also very scenic and provided a great... Jeremy was a professional , interesting guide who took us on this beautiful hike and then to expertly guide us down the river. He made sure to give all hikers access to his informative commentary by rotating hiking positions, which was very thoughtful. The combination of hiking and then seeing the area floating was very fun and beautiful. What a... More
