Great Views and Nice Walks

You can't beat the across-the-water views from Alki Beach. The walking path is great and even with a chilly breeze coming off the water, it's invigorating for different senses.

We drove along Alki Beach on a rainy April afternoon and were impressed by how long a span of beach was beside the road. Should be good for walking or jogging on a less blustery day. Alki Beach Lighthouse was closed on the day we were there, but it is worth driving past.

Enjoy views of the Space Needle in the distance to the east and the mountains in the distance to the west. One of the few sandy beaches in Seattle. Super busy in summer, but really low key in the off seasons. I love going there and just strolling along the water. There are a handful of restaurants and coffee shops... More

Visitors to Seattle looking for a different experience - and an awesome view of the Seattle skyline - should consider taking a water taxi ride across Elliott Bay to the north shoreline of West Seattle: Alki Beach. Alki is the place where settlers first set-up their homesteads - only creating what has become Seattle in the years following. During the... More

I have mixed feelings about this place. The plus....beautiful views across the water, fire pits for smores, food close by. The negatives.... very busy road right behind the beach, not exactly peaceful, parking on the weekend was difficult, large group of partiers gathered around the fire pit next to us. I was hoping for a peaceful fire on the beach... More

We often visit this area as our daughter lives near by. A variety or restaurants and bars make for a pleasant visit with lots of choices. A great place to take a romantic walk or simply walk the dog.

My fiancé lived in Seattle for nearly two decades. She loves this beach and brought me to it on our first visit here. The water is cold and the sandy beach small, but the views are nice. You can even see cruises ships leaving their docks.

What is it about the beautiful Alki Point Beach! It's just such a different vantage point looking across the Sound back towards Seattle. Worth the trip and remember to walk the beach!
