The statue of Lenin on the corner should clue you in to the fact that everything about this neighborhood is alternative. Vegetarian cafes, eclectic shops, coffee houses, bookstores and street artists abound.

As neighborhoods go, Fremont is my second favorite, running behind Ballard for cool and groovy-ness. Fremont is hip and chic and has a lot of great eateries and such, but it is a little too yuppified for my tastes, even bordering on the pretentious at...More

We visited Fremont on part of our Tour of Seattle and its a nice laid back area with plenty of local shops, Cafe's and restaurants. There are also many unique statues and monuments but none more than the Fremont Troll under the Bridge. Impressive work...More

Take the time to see this really neat attraction! Parking was a bit difficult but we squeezed into a spot nearby.

Freemont is one of the neighborhoods in Seattle that definitely warrants a visit. It's right along the "cut", so great for walking or biking. It has a Sunday market and if you're in Seattle in late come don't miss the Solstice Parade.

Fun outdoor art. Worth stopping by and snapping a picture. Freemont has lots of unusual outdoor art, couple that with the chocolate factory tour and it is a very pleasant afternoon

I love Freemont. From the Troll Under the Bridge, to the Lenin statue, you should definitely take time to visit this quirky, artsy section of Seattle.

The troll, the statue of Lenin, chocolate companies, street fairs and sales, it has a little bit of everything different. Worth a side trip to check it out. Listed on Google as the center of the universe. I think that was a joke, but you...More

Those of us who live in Seattle are always glad when out-of-towners come to visit, because we can justify hitting all of the tourist attractions. Fremont, the de facto Center of the Universe, boasts a great little walkabout tour of several... ummm... unique locations. First,...More
