The new Nutcracker is a Winner!

We really enjoyed the new Nutcracker show. It is different but every bit delightful. The dancers are so talented and the show is really good at keeping the kids engaged.

I am sad to see the changes made to the Nutcracker. I've attended the Nutcracker performance for well over 20 years, always enjoying the beautiful dancers. Unfortunately the new version of the Nutcracker looks more like a children's performance to me. There were many more children dancers than adults and far less dancing in general. Sadly, I will not return... More

We are longtime PNB season subscribers, and saw the Stowell-Sendak production numerous times. This new version was very disappointing. The new sets and costumes were pretty, but not that special. The choreography was quite boring. Lots of children running around the stage, but little actual dance. The night we attended, the usually outstanding adult soloists were mediocre. (Laura Tisserand was... More

Make sure to attend a performance when you are in town. The PNB is an outstanding company and the opera house is lovely. Can't wait for the next show when we are in town again.

We were so excited to be able to attend the ballet during our vacation to Seattle and Alaska. The show was beautiful-amazing artistic director!! We were extremely impressed with the venue. I believe there is not a bad seat in the house, Seats were comfortable with plenty of leg room. We grabbed a bite to eat before the show and... More

My little ballerina loves to go and enjoy the show. Parking is expensive and a pain, but the performances are wonderful

Saw the Nutcracker. Great performance- would certainly recommend. The theater seats however were very tight- I am a small framed person and I was a bit uncomfortable.

I wans't too excited about the ballet, who would be, right? But it was excellent. The costumes, music and dancing were awe inspiring. We watched the first act with mouths agape. The staff was pretty friendly. The Fifth Avenue people seem the friendliest in town .. but this wasn't too bad. Oh, and we were sure the crowd would be... More

My daughter and I watched the PNB Nutcracker 1986 video over and over when she was growing up and always said we needed to go see it live. It was her inspiration for becoming a ballet dancer! So when we found out that 2014 was the last year for the Sendak version we just had to go! We went to... More

We went to the Nutcracker Ballet and was very happy with the orchestra, the ballet; and, in particular, the sets as developed by Maurice Sendak. They were outstanding! The orchestra was excellent as well. The Nutcracker story, of course, is not so clear and does not capture the mind like Swan Lake, but nevertheless, this was a first class performance... More
