Fantastic independent book store. They are centrally located on Capitol Hill and easy to find. The selection of books is great...and yes you might pay a little more than online shopping but it's worth it.

I walked about 30 min east from the pike market to this store and I'm still in love! Every person who likes books will love this place. Never saw such a well organized, variegated and sweet bookstore. Even the atmosphere is special. You can sit a a small cafe in the store and just start reading your new books. All... More

A book lover's paradise this is. This is a place you can browse to your hearts content and probably find many of your old author friends.

If you're into bookstore porn, this place is totally for you. Lots of staff picks, friendly, cosy, found a great book of essays and could have spent much more tie, easily. Recommended

Elliott Bay Book Company has been reviewed positively many times, and all the positive reviews are well-deserved because it is a great place to find books. Unlike stores like B&N's in Seattle, Elliott Bay has its books on display in a wonderfully open space and a space that has lots of places to sit down to sample a book--really comfy... More

Easily one of the largest bookstores I've been in. (except The Strand in NYC, obviously). If I lived here, I'd be a frequent visitor. Great selection of books and lots of seating! They had a great selection of games too, which I love to seeing in bookstores, and lots of really unique ones.

If you like book stores, you will love this one. There is a large selection of books (it's not Powells but still very good). There is a coffee shop in the store and lots of chairs. A great place to browse, read and relax.

Elliott Bay Books is a Seattle institution! A wonderful independent bookstore where you can lose yourself for hours. There is a small cafe inside as well. Parking can be challenging. Highly recommend if you are in Capital Hill area.

I loved my time here! The selection of books was overwhelming, but in the best way possible. The store was organized really well, making it easy to find what you were looking for. My favorite part were the employee book recommendations spread throughout the store. I made my book selections based on these recommendations and cannot wait to begin reading!... More

Very pretty bookstore with a wide variety of books. I spent a couple of hours wandering, smelling, and enjoying the quinoa salad at their little cafe.

Thank Rachel T
