After so many years, this garden is still under construction. I supposed it has potential since it is in a very nice location and good view of the city. But I do not see any blue print of what it will look like. Quite tricky to find as Yelp brought us to the wrong location. Skip it until its ready... More

Thoroughly enjoyed walking this garden on the South Seattle Community College campus. Example of how less can sometimes be more. It is one of several small, adjacent gardens connected by gravel walking trails. Great escape from your routine for a peaceful stroll. Free parking available as well as a retail garden shop. A bit off the beaten path but worth... More

When finished, this will be the largest "Chinese Garden" outside of China itself. Since we were visiting in December, nothing was in bloom but the winding paths, pergolas, evergreens, stress and more were still very beautiful. At the far end is the wonderful Courtyard that can be rented for weddings, etc. It will be fun to see what the final... More

Attached to the campus of South Seattle Community College is a Chinese Garden in its birthing stages. It is far from grandiose, such as in Vancouver, Washington but it is a quiet respite from the city, has a nice Chinese courtyard and peaceful views of the city. It is populated on weekends by students and artists and even some performers... More

We went on a Sunday when the garden was pretty empty and the college next door deserted, It was a beautiful, well thought out garden and very different from the Japanese Gardens scattered around other areas of Seattle. Many of the plantings are still small but they will grow and the garden will be even better. It is hard to... More

I've been visiting this garden every few years since it was started five or so years ago and was so pleased to see today -- on a bright cool sunny aftenoon -- how beautifully it has developed. It was serene, with paths around a carved pavilion and a sculpture of a giant dragon carp, a small pagoda, pools with pebbly... More

The garden itself is hard to find - park on the NORTH side right outside South Seattle Community College to save the $2 parking fee. Facing the college’s north entrance, the garden is on the LEFT side; it's hidden. You will see a large rock and a gravel path. Follow the path and behold this 5-acre Sichuan-style garden with a... Hard to find, but very special. Unusual park and buildings and great view. Simple, but a great place to stroll on a nice day.

As of June 2009, the garden is closed for construction. The adjoining arboretum and gardens are great.
