Good pints, great food. Atmosphere is old school and interesting. Listen for the server to tell you about the under ground history of the place.

The Central Saloon became my go-to place during a trip to Seattle this past fall. It's in a great location within walking distance to the Seahawks and Mariners' stadiums, Pioneer Square and the waterfront. I believe it's Seattle's oldest saloon. The walls are covered in interesting historic images. I had three different burgers, each of them hit the spot. It's... More

I got to know this place because was one of our stops at the Stalking Seattle Tour and when it finished, I get to The Central to visit one of the places where Nirvana or other bands used to play. Great beers and good atmosphere and decoration (you find some things from Nirvana).

Seattle's oldest continuously running saloon still keeping the original spirit of Pioneer Square alive. Early home to Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Soundgarden, among others. Great mix of all ages, surprisingly good food, and the coolest, friendliest bartenders you could ever meet.

This place is much more than a bar or a place to listen to some live music. This place is where Hard Rock takes place in Seattle. Lots of history with Nirvana/Alice in Chains/Pearl Jam/etc. A must go for Rock fans. Besides that the burger was great and I had a nice local Seattle draft beer.

We have come here an average of ten times a year- mainly before Seahawks games. Food, beverages, and service have all dropped. Breakfast and their burgers went from pretty good- to poor- the fries were cold, quality of all down over the last year. They don't serve a Hefeweizen , their Ceasers look different each round- even had a plastic... More

In town for a Timbers, Sounds game. We went in search of a bar within walking distance of the stadium. Even though we were supporting the Timbers we we're greeted with open arms and friendly banter. Sitting on the patio, we were warmly engaged by the staff, including the bouncer who even though he was sporting a "Rave Green" Mohawk... More

time marches on and is very evident in this rustic old place. It is nice to see that the place is still running and doing well.

Stopped by Central the other night for a burger and some brews. I was on a business trip and sat at the bar. The bar stools and bar top are proof this is the oldest saloon in Seattle - keep one foot on the floor for balance! A very good beer election (try the Ninkasa IPA) and typical bar menu.... More
