McHugh Creek is just off the highway. Bring a bear bell and beware moose as this 5-6 mile round trip moderate hiking trail is often (at least once a month) closed due to wildlife in the area. Check before you go! BEAUTIFUL views. Great trail....More

There is an interesting nature area and a nice view. Good place to start a day hike along Turnagain Arm trails.

This is an excellent State Park a few miles south of Anchorage. It has easy hikes and excellent views of Turnagain Arm and the surrounding mountains.

This is a great hike for avid hikers. There are two ways to get there: from McHugh Creek campground or Bear Valley. It's a steep climb but a fantastic view. Watch out for bears!

Wildlife watching form this location is amazing. We saw Belugas, Eagles, and Sea lions.
