Rented bikes a block away at Pablos. It took us about 2 hours to go the 11 miles and an hour to come back. Saw 3 moose and beautiful scenery. This is a must do.

Awesome place to ride and soak in the beauty! Mosquito repellent is good if you plan to stop...and you should! Earthquake park, various lookouts, ride off the path a bit and watch the seaplanes at the seaplane base! Keep your eyes open for moose and...More

We started downtown and hiked to Point Woronzof. Beautiful views, fun to see different parks and parts of Anchorage. If it's summer, bring bug spray...we went through several places heavily infested with mosquitos.

Amazing and flat trail that is a must do. Rent a bike at Pablos and the trail is a block away. If you ride out towards the airport you'll most likely see moose.

We had a relaxing stroll along the trail. There was a lot to see including groups of people running, bikers and walkers. We were all enjoying the view. There were some pretty flowers in some areas also. This is a long trail but we didn't...More

This trail starts near our hotel and has very reasoably priced bikes available for rent. Well worth a short to long walk or a longer ride. Very pleasant and worthwhile but a modest walk is about as good as seeing the whole trail for there...More

We parked at the end of 5th street (found a spot during the shoulder-season, but may be harder to do in July and August.) Traveled about a mile - no change in scenery. Fine if your aim is to jog or ride, but otherwise skip...More

Thanks for your review...I have a question. Where do you access the trail? We are staying at the Marriott downtown the first night we get there (about 9:30 PM) and at the Cook Hotel the second night. Is it a good introductory walk ...is it close to either of these hotels? Thanks

There are multiple access points - the trail runs along the downtown waterfront all the way to Ted Steven airport! Looks like the best access point for you in downtown will be West 5th Avenue from your hotel. Just walk... More

When you exit the Capt Cook Hotel onto W. 5th Ave, turn right (Westerly) and walk 2 1/2 blocks to Elderberry Park and you'll see the signs to get to the "Coastal Trail". BTW, before you get to the park, there are usually... More
I am coming to Anchorage this week (early May) and hoping to run this trail from kincaid back to anchorage. Do you think it'll be clear at this time of year for a run?

The trail is clear now for running. My wife and I have been running it this week. Have a great time in Anchorage. Try the Flat Top Mountain Hike while you are here.
