Omaha preserves its historic place in time in this historic section of town where visitors can stroll along the cobbled streets and explore the many preserved buildings.

One thing I like about the old Market area is that there aren't a bunch of cookie cutter chain stores and franchises that you can find in any city. When I travel I don't want to go to places I can visit back home. There...More

The Old Market needs refurbishment - badly. Buildings are run-down with faded paint schemes and ancient structures. Fortunately, the many cuisine establishments make it a must see in Omaha. Howard Street has many eateries with good food.

When in doubt, head to the Old Market area in downtown Omaha. Brick/cobblestone streets, tons are charm.

I'm only giving it four stars only because I didn't get to see the whole thing, but from what I saw it was great! Very diverse!!!

Lot's of nice restaurants and bars. Family oriented (candy shops, etc.) also. If you like strolling along and popping into shops, this is a good spot for you.

The horse drawn carriage only goes through the Old Market area. I'm not sure of their policies. I think you pay for a specific time.
