Just a great experience. Tours include narrative about Susan Lawrence and her many causes. Not as strenuous as described, stairs are doable. Magnificent stained glass windows etc throughout the house. If you love architecture and marvel about Wright's houses, visit! Interesting fact on the tour....More

This is an amazing home with a fascinating history. Love all the Frank Lloyd Wright homes we have visited. The tour guide, although brand new, did an outstanding job. Loved it! Wish we could take photos and the gift shop was open after the tour.

Great history of the house, a bit of Frank Lloyd Wright and much about Susan Lawrence. Worthwhile for history or architecture buffs.

Donation requested. Largest FL Wright house. Excellent docents giving tour. A relaxing tour, not uptight like some other Wright houses. Free parking off Cook St. Short film before tour. Artisan glass for windows is very special. Highly recommend this house tour.

We decided to stop here before leaving town. Our tour guide was amazing. She had great knowledge of the house and Frank Lloyd Wright. While I’ve always been interested in the architecture, this was our first actual tour of a house. It was so amazing...More

This place is an absolute must-see in Springfield! It has a wheelchair lift to get onto the main level of the house but they were unable to make it completely accessible, as they would have to damage the layout of the historic building to do...More

Spectacular house, well worth a tour. We’ve seen many Frank Lloyd Wright houses, this is a great example. The stained glass is particularly amazing.

A good place to see how Frank Lloyd Wright designed a house to make it light and airy, but still with lots of floor space. The house is well maintained, and the story of the owner is also interesting. Lots of narrow stairs to traverse...More

Having spent the last ten years viewing FLW’s works (of art) this is certainly one of the most impressive. A corner house, with an imposing facade, and, in typical FLW style, an entry to the house which is relatively difficult to discern. The actual entry...More

Tour starts with a short video and then tour of this wonderful house. The guide provided an excellent overview of the general design themes used in the house and provided great insight into the life of the house and the two private owners. This was...More

The site is open year round Weds.-Sun. and seasonally Mon. & Tues. The website doesn't say when the seasonal ends. The best thing to do is call 1 217 782-6776. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
