We were wondering if this pool was really worth it, because we read that the water was rather cold and it was very dirty. Well, it was worth every second over there. The water is not as warm as the natural bads in Blue lagoon...More

You definitely don't want to miss this natural spring pool. It's a short walk to get there, and so relaxing! If you pass it a little bit, you'll get to see a beautiful canyon.

I have always wanted to visit Seljavallalaug and finally I did :) But what a disappointment! The changing rooms were the dirtiest I have ever seen. The pool itself was not really warm so it was not nice.

There are very few secrets spots left in Iceland anymore - with over 1 million visitors every year most 'secret spots' are now popular stops on the tourist itinerary. Everybody is looking for something special and this is a special place - an old pool...More

The hike out was fun, the setting beautiful. The information we had was that it was a secret, hidden gym. Maybe a few years ago. The water is barely warm, the changing rooms littered with trash and graffiti. We did leave a donation, but I...More

I was at this remarkable place for the July 4th holiday weekend (from the USA) and as an avid swimmer it was like finding nirvana. The water is very warm and the pool slick with algae, yet the location can't be beat. Nestled a short...More

This hot spring/bath is set in a nice scenery but the bath itself was not nice. Felt mor like a mud bath than a refreshing hotspring. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Go to Reykjadalur hot springs instead which is much cleaner and pristine.

Sure the surroundings are beautiful but the water was dirty and full of algeas. The changing rooms were really disgusting. There was absolutely no way for you to stay clean while changing clothes. If you want to go for a swim choose to do so...More

A beautiful hike takes you in to this place, but the water wasn't very warm and the pool looked unclean. The "changing rooms" were disgusting. People had left garbage all over the place. It is a real shame.

There are definitely better hot springs/public pools in Iceland to go to, but this one is situated closely to many of the country's largest attractions. It is not particularly clean, but is a distinct experience, and you will inevitably meet other travelers originating from around...More

If you're concerned about road conditions, check Road.is online. They update it regularly and can give you a good idea of conditions. The secondary or F-Roads really change depending on the time of year.
