Free parking and also close by fish and chips place to eat right as you make left into the way to skogafoss. There is no restrooms. However be prepared to climb 400 flights of stairs to see the view of the waterfall from above. It is truly breathtaking from top so be sure to climb up the stairs if your... More

Another waterfall that you can see from the carpark. It was wild and woolly when we arrived but we braved the elements and got up close and personal. On walking back to the carpark the rain stopped - just like that - and the sun was out. We turned back and a rainbow had formed in the waterfall (amazing to... More

As the title, this is a beautiful waterfall. We visited on a coach trip, meaning we had less time than we'd have liked and it was busy. Probably better to try and get here early in the morning if you're driving yourself. I'm reasonably fit and seeing the bottom and the top was a challenge in our 20min stop (I... More

The Skogafoss waterfall on the south coast if Iceland has long been on my list of places to see, and I was not disappointed. The waterfall is stunning especially with snow on the ground and with clear blue skies, which meant that there was a bright rainbow in front of the falls. There is a path to the top of... More

The waterfall itself is impressive, but the place was full of tourists, so it kind of flattens the nature experience. Worth stopping at if you are driving by (as you probably are since it's right by the Road 1), but not worth a detour except early in the morning when it's probably more quiet. You get quite near the waterfall... More

Cool place, photogenic and big enough to avoid the crowds in the photos. It's a little bit another waterfall but a nice and cute one.

We went to Iceland March 2-11, 2017. It was great weather for us! We got lucky. We stayed at a hostel right outside Skogafoss so early in the morning we checked it out. Just another beautiful waterfall in Iceland!

This waterfall is spectacular, as if you catch it on a day with sun shining on it like we did, it produces a wonderful rainbow that becomes full circle as you approach. You can climb up steps to see from above and walk right up the river to just underneath if you wear waterproofs. Fantastic and a quick visit if... More
