We enjoyed watching the videos before we toured the western white house. It is still a working ranch. Even though we remember LBJ's presidency, this was enlightening about his early years. He was shaped by his youth in Texas Hill Country.

They have a living farm set as 100 years old. They explained the making of products from the cow they milked and how they made sausage. You can also see the birthplace of LBJ and cemetery of the Johnsons. Very informative. We got there late...More

To be honest, I was not excited about this visit that was part of our tour. I remember the Johnson presidency, and was not a fan. However, I learned a lot with the visit to the LBJ ranch, and walking on the ground where LBJ...More

Run by National Park Service, this is an interesting peek into the lives of President and Lady Bird Johnson. Enjoyed the park ranger who did our tour. She knew Mrs. Johnson in her later years and put her personal spin on the tour.

We are from England, and are old enough to remember LBJ's Presidency. We found the ranch and the house fascinating, and the location is stunning - beautiful and very calm. The Hereford cattle also reminded us of home! No wonder LBJ used it as a...More

First of all, the drive to the LBJ house is very interesting as you drive thru and around what was once LBJ's ranch. It's probably a 10 minute drive from the main road back to his house. As you pull up to the house, you...More

We didn't pay to take the tour of the interior of the LBJ Ranch house, but nonetheless enjoyed seeing it from the outside, especially as the ranch featured so prominently in LBJ's press conferences in the 1960s. We also enjoyed driving around the surrounding ranch...More

There is no charge to visit the ranch; it is a self guided tour with a map of the different sites (I detailed them in my review). The only charge is if you decide to visit the interior of the Texas White house; it is a... More

The "Texas White House" is in Just outside of Stonewall, Texas. There are plenty of signs to direct you there. It will be at least an hour half to a two hour drive from San Antonio to get there. . The LBJ Library is in... More
