I booked a Canal Cruise for a company team meeting - something fun to do between our meeting in Richmond and dinner. What a great choice! Booking with Alex was a snap and they were extremely accommodating. Our group truly enjoyed learning the history of Richmond from our witty and knowledgeable captain who was also kind enough to take our... More

Enjoyed this a lot! Great historical information. Only $8 so well worth it! Would be nice if tour was longer but the rest must be done on foot.

This is a 40-minute boat trip down the river. Our captain was really informative and knowledgeable about the area. The only problem we had is there were several infants on the boat ride and it was really warm and they were crying so hysterical that you couldn't hear a word the captain said for the last 15-minutes of the boat... This 40-minute canal cruise will take you up and down the canal in Richmond. Your tour guide will teach you about the history of the canal itself as well as the state of Virginia and the country as a whole. The guide was very knowledgable, but the microphone system on the boat needs to be boosted or upgraded as he... More

These riverfront canal cruises offer a relaxing way to view wildlife along the canal, centuries-old brick warehouses, new lofts and office buildings, iron railroad trestles and soaring highways that meet at the famed Triple Crossing which is the intersection of three key transportation routes. It was most enjoyable and the guide was very well informed of the local history.

Cotton was a great guide and captain. It was very nice just sitting and being told stories down the canal. Amazing history!!! Kids were super excited about the turtle tree. It was very historic and pleasurable. Must do if you are touring the area.

After a lot of walking through Richmond, the Canal Cruise is an excellent spot to stop, sit and relax as you learn about the history of this city. I was truly impressed by what I learned, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip.

We tried the first cruise of the new season, on our visit to Richmond with friends, and it was a pleasant and informative way to get to know the city. The guide was top notch and mixed history with appropriate humor, Good for families. We paired this with a walk along the canal and around Belle Island for a nice... More

Very unique look at Richmond, from the bottom up. Leisurely cruise on the Richmond canal. Learned a lot of history from our guide. Richmond became what it was because ships could not navigate any further upstream. Nice to sit back and relax ont his quiet tour.
