Canal Walk is such a plus for Richmond. It gives views of the James River with places to sit. Nice place to grad a sandwich sit and relax. The walkway makes it easy to walk push a stroller or wheelchair.

After walking out over the James we took the canal walk back to our hotel in Shockoe. It's a bit uneven but a much more pleasant walk than the streets and parts are quite beautiful. As always we love the cool murals and street art.

I work downtown and this lovely walk is relaxing and accessible. Would recommend to anyone - work break or tourist!

We were surprised to find this walk so close to our downtown hotel. The canal walk offers a little bit of history (through the signage) and some great views of the river. The trail is short, but leads to Belle Isle, so you can do...More

Really good historical and leisurely exercise experience. Take the boat ride - well worth it. Much of our history is covered here and I learn something new each time.

The walkway passes through some interesting parts of the waterfront, including the remains of industrial buildings. The signage was unclear in some sections, require backtracking and head scratching. Some places are very unfriendly for those with walking problems: gravel, cobblestones, and wooden stairs. We also...More

Loved the walk. Canal has been neglected unfortunately. Also on Sunday's there is a church service on Brown Island from 10.00am to 4.00pm so you can't use parts on the Canal Walk.

Came here on a sunday morning. We spent about an hour checking out the canal, bridges and river. Worth the time allocation.

This is a fun place to bring the family for a walk, viewing the newest artwork on the buildings, and the boat tour is low key and informative.

OOPS I thought you were asking about the Canal Walk! Don't think they can come on the Canal Boat.
