Thank you so much for your complimentary review of VMFA. Just one correction: VMFA is the only art musuem in the United States open 365 days a year with free general admission -- and that includes Dec. 25, Christmas!

Not sure about the open time. It should be posted on the web site. We had tickets during the week when they were not busy and they allowed us to go in early.

We were able to enter the exhibit 30 minutes before our set time so I doubt I would be a problem.

I would give it at least an hour. If you have a particular interest in the other items, such as the gold and other jewelry, household furnishing, etc., plan on longer.
