The church where Patrick Henry gave his famous "Give me Liberty or Give me Death" speech. Built in 1741 and the ground surrounding it is a cemetery. Several people of interest are buried here but I will leave that for you to research. The property...More

Felt really cool to experience this. This is where Patrick Henry gave his 'give me liberty or give me death' speech. I love history and this was a to-do for me while visiting Richmond. Rich in History. Beautiful church and cemetery.

We arrived shortly after it closed, but we still were able to wander the grounds and enjoy the beautiful church and cemetery. Really liked that you could adopt a grave stone, making it your responsibility to maintain it. Great idea. There is a plaque out...More

The $8 is well worth the money. Out tour guide did a great job of explaining the circumstances of Vriginia’s second convention and the speech by Patrick Henry. Outstanding.

We were on a time constraint so we did not do a full tour but did stroll the grounds and talk with the period-dressed employees on duty. They were all overly helpful and friendly and the gift store was nice and reasonable priced.

This church dates back to the 1600s and many notable patriots worshipped here. Guides are very passionate and informative - do it

The “tour” involves going inside the church and sitting on a pew as the church representative gives a historical overview. No actual “tour”. At $8/adult and $7/child over seven years old, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Amazing historic 1747 church with really old tombstones littered on the grounds. They have Edgar Allan Poe’s mom, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and the first U.S. Marshall buried here.
