A very beautiful and historic church located in the Church Hill section of Richmond. Site of Patrick Henry's "Give me liberty or give me death" speech before the American Revolution. Well worth the visit. Check the web for times of availability.

I brought my children for a tour and it was very interesting! They did a re-enactment of Patrick Henry's speech and it was quite entertaining. We also stopped by the gift shop and purchased one of the cookbooks from Richmond which was a fun addition!

It was only about an hour, but what a trip! Ray took us back to 1775 to the Second Virginia Conference, where 7 VA signers of the Declaration of Independence heard Patrick Henry to give him liberty or give him death. A must stop for history buffs. The cemetery alone is a 4 star attraction with many revolutionary patriots buried... More

Worship at the oldest church in Richmond is thought-provoking and beautiful. A warm, inviting congregation, engaged in service in its urban neighborhood, welcomes visitors and members every Sunday. In the summer, don't miss the Liberty or death" reenactment in the afternoon.

The church seemed closed for repair when we came to the door and we were rushed in to a Live reenactment of Patrick Henry's Famous speech in the place he did it more than two hundred years before. It was the best. A hundred fourth gardens in a historical trance. From the balcony we watched the play with amazement and... More

if Patrick Henry said something different than "I don't know what course you will take but, as for me, give me liberty or give me death", it was pretty much the same thought. Doh't go to Richmond without seeing where this event took place which was so influential in getting the Colonies to unify around the idea of separation from... More

Visited the church for the annual Poe themed event. The characterizations in the cemetery were extremely well done and very interesting and entertaining. The organ music inside was a delight. And the Poe dramatization and poetry reading was magnificent. My only complaint is I would have liked MORE reading - it was just a fantastic event and I look forward... More

This is a pretty, historical Church the site of the famous speech, give me Liberty or give me Death. Poe's mother is buried here as well as many historic people. They do have tours, we arrived late after the last one but were able to see the exterior and the graves.

This church does a reenactment of Patrick Henry's "give me liberty" speech. It is well done and very moving. Beautiful church.
