staff were uniformly helpful. the setting was clean and peaceful. the collections emphasize virginia (no surprise there). the restaurant was much better than i'd expected. it's conveniently located on broad street a couple of blocks from capitol square. there was no rough spot at all.

This is one of the more beautiful modern libraries in the US. Designed by Craig Hartman, one of the best architects at Skidmore Owings and Merril, the building should be on the list for any architecture buff.
