The museum and the staff were superior. If traveling in Northern Virginia, this is a not to be missed stop.

Interesting battlefield with lots of open space for wandering on your own. There are tours of a few of the buildings. The visitor center has a short movie about the two battles that were fought there. You can drive yourself to some of the attractions....More

No entry fee. I walked the grounds by myself with the free NPS handout (you'll have to ask for one from the VC desk)

On a weekday, you can take the reverse flow VRE Commuter Train that leaves DC about 6:30 AM and arrives in Downtown Manassas at 7:30AM. Check VRE's website for exact stops and times that the train leaves DC Union Station... More
