This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

I desperately want to like this Zoo so much, as growing up I was spoiled by living in proximity to one of the BEST.... the Toledo Zoo (and Cincinnati and Columbus were pretty awesome too). Having relocated to Atlanta, Zoo Atlanta is all I have....More

While it is a small zoo overall it was a nice place to spend a couple of hours. On our visit, the zoo was not crowded (even for a Mother's Day weekend) and there were a few animals there I had never seen before. The...More

Great zoo. Very friendly staff. Very informative. Love the gorilla habitat and panda. Little over priced for the size of the zoo.

The Zoo is relatively close to the city, so very easy to get to. Parking is free. If you buy you ticket on-line in advance, there is a discount ($23 per adult instead of $26, which is reasonable for a zoo). The wait to get...More

My son and I went to the zoo on a Wednesday. I will say there was an issue with parts of the movie Rampage being filmed there that made it difficult to gain access to the zoo.I was disappointed in the amount of animals that...More

Visited the zoo for the first today. We found it very difficult to navigate with poor flow and found ourselves frequently backtracking. Several of the exhibits weren't open. They were filming a movie and the directions on where to park and walk weren't clearly evident....More

The Atlanta Zoo is rather small, and there is really not much of a variety of animals (maybe I am partial to the Bronx Zoo :). As at most zoos food is overpriced and not very good. We enjoyed the Pandas and that was about...More

Thank you for leaving feedback. We hope you were able to see all of our locations, habitats and destinations such as Scaly Slimy Spectacular and our gorilla population (North America's largest). We are compact but with over 200 different species and 1,500 animals there is...More

I have to admit, I am giving this a 5 star because of my experience in feeding the adult male Panda. This zoo is the only zoo in the United States where you get to feed a Panda. While it does come for a price,...More

Yes, the animals are very active in the mornings. You'll see everything from animals stretching to feeding. You'll even hear our trio of lion brothers roaring in the morning! Parking is also great.
