I love the History

I attended a night where actors played the roles of famous deceased people buried in the cemetary. History had come to life!

This is a beautiful well kept old cemetery. Lots of history here. Nice place to take a walk and see some famous people's last resting place. The Bobby Jones site is interesting as is Margaret Mitchell's.

The grand old cemetery is maintained very well by its staff and volunteers. Never miss the opportunity to go here when there is an event. Good food vendors, generally reasonably priced. Wear good walking shoes.

I love going to this very old cemetery. There are graves that date back to the 1800's when people were buried next to their pets. I've shot pictures here that are so gorgeous. They give tours.

Monuments of stone and trees place this spot at the top of the list for a visit in my book. Take the whole family and they will thank you for it. The magic is in the enthusiasm of the folks that are responsible for the property. This includes the garden right down to the last tombstone and of course all... More

If you wish, you can spend a lot of time here. The old graveyard is sectioned and so you can concentrate on one specific area or walk all over the place! It really is fascinating to see all the old aspects of where the past residents became immortal.

Took a tour of the Jewish section of the cemetery, Dan, our guide was quite knowledgeable and friendly;y. Included much history of Atlanta. To walk around the entire cemetery, I would allot 3 hours. Bobby Jones is also buried there, may folks have left golf balls on his grave. Use caution when stepping onto walkways as some bricks have shifted... More

Seem strange to review a cemetery but this is a beautifully, tranquil place to get away from the city and to enjoy some outstanding resting places and greenery. Nice little welcome centre to highlighted some of the prominent sights you might be interested in.

The tour was a cross section of Georgia history. Margaret Mitchell, Bobby Jones, and many others are buried here. The tour guides are exceptionally knowledgeable and excited about sharing the cemetery's legacy.
