This stunning, porcelain-enameled building was designed by famed architect Richard Meier and is rivaled only by the art inside. Featuring American, European and African art, as well as decorative art and photography, the High Museum boasts a permanent collection of over 11,000 pieces, many of which can be viewed from different levels of the four-story, glass atrium.

So Atlanta attractions offer free family sundays and my husband and I decided to check out the High (he had never been) with our brother and one of my besties and her fiancee. It was a TON of fun. I love museums and the High is one of my favorites ever. When we went there was a shoe exhibit that... More

My only criticism is that at the time of my visit two floors were closed for the installation of an upcoming Warhol exhibition. I felt that there could have been a reduction of the entrance fee ($14.50) when many of the galleries were closed. The collection of art in the permanent collection is quite good considering this is a regional... More

A couple of coworkers and I attended a Friday night Jazz session and I must say, the band was getting it! From deep southern blues to Prince, I was singing along and swaying to the beat. If you love music and art, then this event is perfect for you. I’ve been to the High Museum several times and always enjoy... More

Highly recommended. Beautiful facility, grounds, gorgeous architectre. I had a few hours to kill before heading to the airport, so I went to see a show on American Landscape in art. Fantastic show, The early-mid 20th century photographs in the show could have been a fabulous show in itself - Ansel Adam, Imogene Cunningham, Paul Strand, Walker Evans, Margaret Bourke-White,... We went to a Jazz at the High evening. The main area near the stair was very crowded with young people, a lot of young women in very tight dresses and very high heels traveling in packs. It was very loud, the acoustics were not meant for a musical performance therefore you mainly heard chatter and not music. It was... More

I simply love the architecture of the whole place. A bit confusing once you get up in the floors but not big enough to get lost. Very enjoyable european art and nice exhibitions too.

Spent a couple of hours visiting the High with a friend. Interesting building with lots of open spaces. We enjoyed the Ashley Bryan exhibit, the antiques, and the gift shop. Bonus: used my North American Reciprocal museum membership from another state to get free admission for two.

I've been to the High a few times and I am never disappointed. There is a lot to see so come prepared to spend a couple of hours. I went through the permanent collection and all the special exhibitions, which took about 2 hours. Their contemporary/modern gallery is absolutely my favorite. It is a beautiful museum in a great area.... More

I have been here many times and each visit has been wonderful!! Each exhibit has been amazing. It is easy to access. Plenty of close parking, but you do have to pay for that. Lots of different levels. A nice sitting area for snacks.
