The home of the Atlanta Shakespeare Company, the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse on Peachtree Street has an enchanting history and a prime location in downtown Atlanta. We are a professional theatre with food and drinks available before each performance (and don't forget the apple crisp at intermission!)

It can be a cool date or friends night out. The theater is fun, interesting. The play was good, but the food served is fair. I would return again because of the environment and the plays.

After many years of regular visits to Atlanta, we finally got to the Shakespeare Tavern. And what a wonderful evening we had. Amazingly, this company produces plays all year long with only a one week break between Christmas and the New Year. Most productions appear...More

I have been to four productions at the Shakespeare Tavern in the past 6 months. The current production of Midsummer's Night Dream shows the depth of the actors talent in this company. Great food, great service and tremendous entertainment.

I went to see "A Midsummer Nights Dream". The play was hilarious and the actors did an amazing job of keeping us laughing. The food and beer were good and represented a great English pub's menu well. A fun time especially for Shakespeare lovers!

When visiting Atlanta we always check to see what is being performed at the tavern. Saw The Taming of the Shrew this past weekend. It was fantastic! The actors are great! Love when they interact with the audience which is most nights. The food and...More

Expecting to be bored with a Shakespeare play, because have seen quite a lot of them. But, this ensemble did a good job of bringing in present day humor into Shakespeare. It was a two hour show, which went by quickly, because the entertaining was...More

If you like Shakespeare, you will probably like this experience. If you don't like Shakespeare, I am not sure what is wrong with you, but you will probably also like this experience. It's fun, often interactive, and food and adult beverages are served in a...More
