This hike is very difficult; very steep, uneven stone steps, close to the edge of the path, but it was beautiful. An important thing which should be stressed; after you reach the petrogyphs, there is a VERY DIFFICULT climb but if you do that climb,...More

This hike fascinated me. The trail is up an down so probably not to be recommended if you are unsteady on your feet. Take your camera because the views are worth the effort. The Petroglyphs themselves, whilst not extensive, are none the less worth he...More

We started this walk late in the day, but after 1/2 an hour we were too hot to go on. It is necessary to pay attention as there are steep places to maneuver and no guard rails. I'd attempt this early morning with plenty of...More

This was my favorite hike in the park. My wife likes the archeological stuff and I like the nature. This was a really good combination and interesting hike. You climb under rocks, wedge between rocks and over rocks until you get to the end and...More

We really enjoyed our morning hike, it was peaceful and not overly challenging. Our only complaint was waiting til 8:30 for the gate to open but met some other hikers who were told to start at the end and you don't have to wait. Wish...More

The petroglyph point hike can be done as a loop, or in/out the same way; either way, it's 3 miles because the petroglyphs are at the far end of the loop. We took the mesa top part of the trail because it's cooler, winding through...More

A challenging hike! Mountain billy goat clambering on the way there. Steep steps, hanging off rocks, hot, dry. All of that was manageable. The hard part was breathing. We live at about 1800 feet altitude. This hike is about 7000-8000 feet. Fortunately, the return was...More

Everything I had read about this trail described it as a moderate hike. I am 59 and in good shape, but if this is a moderate hike, I shudder to think what qualifies as strenuous. Granted, I live in an area of 500' elevation whereas...More

A nice hike with good views and interesting sights such as petroglyphs and stone house. There is some scrambling over rocks but half the walk is flat, so not too hard.

This is an almost 3 mile hike that takes you down through the canyon on the first half which consists of many stairs and rocks to climb. It can be strenuous depending on your hiking level. The trail provided a booklet that detailed the flora...More

If you are in reasonably good shape, it would be ok, but for the first half of the hike you need to be sure footed and able to navigate rocks and steps. The second half is in top of the Mesa and is easy. I would consider... More
