This is a steep hike up but well worth the work. When it is clear you have the most magnificent views of Cortez and Shiprock. Also on the lookout tower is a map showing all the fire locations.

It's very easy to access from the main park road and worth spending 15 minutes looking around. The path from the parking lot to the fire lookout is not long, and as I witnessed, it's accessible by motorized wheelchair.

Great stop along the road into the park. Plenty of parking, so don't need to grab first spot you see. Short, inclined walk to watch tower at peak. It is over 8,000' elevation so take water with you. There are benches to rest or enjoy...More

Short stop but great view and picture taking opportunity! Might take a jacket as winds blow. Camera is a must and you will enjoy the pictures the rest of your life!

On a clear day you can see well over 100 miles. The fire tower is here and you'll see why the location is excellent. This and the ranger guided tour of the Balcony House were the two most awesome things we did here.

My wife and I enjoyed being able to view the surroundings from such a high vantage point. We could View 4 states from this overlook. And so we're able to gain great perspective from this specific location

This is well worth the stop - views in all directions are fantastic. Short, not-too-steep trail to the top of the point - but can still get good views from the parking level if the walk seems to be too much.

Be sure to stop in here when you drive by. The views are fantastic, you can see Shiprock in NM from here. Great stop.

Short, relatively steep walk up to a fire lookout that is still used during peak fire season. There is quite a bit of history on the fires that have occurred in the park since the 30s. If you are unable to do any of the...More

This is a must stop on a tour of Mesa Verde National Park. The views are spectacular, a little more than 180°. What else to say?
