Balcony House is a great ranger tour. The drive to the entrance is about 45 mins-1 hour from the Visitor center. The 32ft ladder isn't bad, just go slow and don't look down. The 12 ft. tunnel is a bit of a squeeze but manageable....More

The residents lived here out of fear of enemies, but time has made it a place of beauty. The enemies are gone and we are blessed to be able to see the village once filled with the elderly, working families and children climbing all over....More

We were lucky enough to get in on a cancellation to see Balcony House cliff dwelling. Long mountainous drive from visitor centre to the parking lot for the tour. Our guide was Spencer and he did an excellent job of explaining everything about the people...More

This tour requires one to climb up and down ladders to reach the site and exit thru a small tunnel. It only added a bit of fun to what already was an educational experience. We found all of the National Park rangers to be engaging...More

A amazing tour though an historical site that combines a challenging climb to access the site and to exit the site as well. If you're afraid of heights or claustrophobic I would suggest you look at the pictures before going. The Ranger who led the...More

We stopped at the visitor's center at the gate. Real nice rangers there told me to hold up because they were about to release tickets for the only tours that day--Balcony house. $5 per person. They told me to get going and not to dally...More

Everyone has said it already. The one hour tour is informative and fun. Add adventure to travel! The ladders are not an obstacle except if you have a disability. The trip is worth it.

We arrived late in the season and this was the only tour open. That’s OK because it was on our list and it gave us more time to explore the rest of the park. I was a little apprehensive about climbing a 30 something foot...More

Balcony House requires a bit of a climb on ladders both in & out in addition to crawling through a little tunnel on the tour. Beautiful place & so much history of The Ancients Life who lived here long ago!

It depends what time you arrive. If you arrive when the Visitor Center opens you should be ok. Ideally, if your schedule permits, arrive the day before and purchase for the following morning.
