We elected to go on the 8am tour of Balcony House in an attempt to beat the heat. Unfortunately, given the position of Balcony House on the mesa, morning is the wrong time to go to Balcony House. Nearly all of the rest of the...More

Did this tour in the morning. It was hot, but was a terrific tour. The dwellings, climbing the ladders, and going through the small spaces was fantastic.

So much culture and history to soak in in such a stunning setting. Our Ranger was amazing and challenged us to think outside the western narrative told tonus for so many years as Gen X’ers. However, it was exciting enough for 7 and 8 year...More

To see Balcony House you have to buy a ticket at the visitor centre in person. If you are lucky you can book the same day at a cost of $5. The tour is fun and involves some ladders and a small tunnel. Children do...More

You can NOT see this from the road and a park sign acknowledges that also. If you cannot get tour tickets then you are driving for a long time to only get two long distance views of Cliff Palace and Spruce House. Spruce House used...More

An experience to never forget. Physically challenging ( but not too bad) and well worth it. Not for those afraid of heights or small spaces.

It depends what time you arrive. If you arrive when the Visitor Center opens you should be ok. Ideally, if your schedule permits, arrive the day before and purchase for the following morning.
