THoreau's writings take more perspective after seeing this replica cabin. If you are fortunate to be there the day the resident 'Thoreau' is aorund, you are in for a treat!

Fun to see for Thoreau fans, but not as interesting as some other Thoreau exhibits in Concord. Gets the message of "Simplicity, Simplicity, Simplicity" across well!

Nice replica of the house. 2 trap doors one above and one below with a small bed, wood burning stove and desk. Very small. across the street from the pond.

Before entering the pond, Thoreau's replica cabin is a neat see. To put a real image to what I imagined reading Walden was cool. I would also recommend walking around the pond to the original site of where he built his cabin.

This replica gives the visitor the idea of just how small the house was that Thoreau lived in during his days at Walden Pond. The original house was torn down after his "experiment" ended as was the requirement of Emerson who allowed Thoreau to build...More

The house is a replica of the original, which was very basic like Thoreau. For the real feel of where Thoreau lived and walked and what he envisioned from his home, one needs to walk about a half mile into the woods to see where...More

The house is a simple one room affair. Park Ranger is stationed there to impart information. The day we visited, the ranger was well versed and was so interesting, we found ourselves staying and staying to keep listening! Be sure to walk across the street...More

The house is small and fairly bare. Surely gives a sense of this transcendentalist's sparse habitat. Located at the road side of the parking lot.

Well, if you're going to walden why wouldn't you check out Thoreau's House?! This probably inspired tiny houses since it was built by the ultimate survivalist. The house is surprisingly roomy with all the essentials you'd need to live in the woods. I could easily...More

Beautiful spot but not a whole lot to see. The Walden Pond is a beautiful place to visit and the Thoreau House is interesting to see but there isn't much there. He lived a spartan life so there isn't a lot there. That being said...More
