I ventured out on the trail, not sure where I was going. It was quite a hike, lots of stairs (both up and down), but it was worth the trip. Took me maybe half and hour.

We arrived on a monday at 630 AM. There was very few people on the trail. Most of the time we felt like we had the trail to ourselves. We took so many great photos with no fear of bothering others. Wonderful hour or so...More

The trail was nice but strenuous in areas. If you decide to do it wear comfortable shoes and have a water bottle with you. See if you can figure out what area of the trail National Treasure 2 shot scenes of.

Good to see different views/angles. Nice historical notes along the way. Well kept/paved. Lots of stairs.

The Trail is an easy walk and it's fun to see the Sculptor's Studio, where they filmed National Treasure, and to get close to Mount Rushmore. It's a lovely walk not to be missed. It says strenuous trail on a sign, but it really isn't....More

This trail is less than a mile boardwalk trail just under the sculptures worth a look as it does have several interesting photo ops along the way. You just need to be aware of all the stairs that you will need to go up and...More

I wasn't expecting such lovely trees and views. The sculptor's studio is a nice stop to see the original model workers used. Boardwalks are wide and there are plenty of benches and stops along the way for those that need a break.

This is a 15-20 minute walkway from the main viewing area taking you closer to the mountain and excellent views of Mount Rushmore. Walkway is well-designed and fits into the natural surroundings. There are areas for optimal viewing. Highly recommend walking this trail.

We regret not going here sooner. My daughter said she would've appreciated this more while studying U.S. history in school. This visit gives you a newfound appreciation of America's history and you might find yourself walking away with a sense of patriotism. We ate at...More

The trail gives a changing perspective of the monument. Just make sure you can walk the stairs. It was a little crowded but take your time and be patient and you'll get plenty of good pictures of the 4 presidents.

Depends on your stamina. I recommend clockwise, but either way works fine. My reasoning is that clockwise takes you to the close in viewing points sooner. And sometimes you will see mountain goats along that section of... More
