I went with World of Greenland on a day trip up to the glacier. What an epic day! The entire trip was beautiful, but of course the highlight was turning the motor off and eating a great lunch sitting outside watching the glacier repeatedly calve. Truly outstanding! We were 1 km away from the face and it was simply spectacular!

The sound of the thunderous roar from the glacier before it calves is just so unforgettable and the sight of it calves is just fantastic.

You have to take a five-hour boat ride to get there. You can either stay overnight a the Eqi Ice Camp, which is very well organized, but basic, or take a five-hour boat ride, watch the glacier calving for two hours, then ride back to Ilulissat for five more hours.

we stayed in the huts and I totally loved the view and the staff, nothing much to do around there except hike around but the view will stay with you forever, the glacier is wonderful, changes all the time and is just stunning. Try and spend some time there if you can.

It was a long boat ride, over 3 hours one way. The total trip took 8-9 hours. Eqip was awesome, comparable to many other glaciers. While it's called "calving glacier", it didn't calve much when we were there. In spite that, we really enjoyed the trip. Silver of Tourist Nature (separate reviews) arranged a small boat with less than a... More

Went there on a beautiful day trip with Icecap Tours and had a splendid day with "lunch with a view" in front of the amazing and lively glacier

It is a truly humbling experience watching this glacier either from a boat or from land. It cracks and falls and rumbles like thunder. There are chunks floating around and when a bigger piece falls you watch the waves rippling off across the water. If you are watching from Camp Eqi you have to be above the safety line in... More

Astonishing place and not to be missed but LISTEN TO THE WARNINGS about tsunamis and do not walk near the water. Tidal waves happen frequently. Staying overnight is worth it if you can - stunning views, and peace and quiet apart from the shellfire sounds of the glacier cracking.

The Eqi trip was the highlight of our Greenland tour. The small huts in the middle of nowhere with the magnicent view and the kind, entertaining and helpful crew that kept cosy and serve incredible food.
