Visited this site during our tour of Mexico. The village of Cholula is an attractive place in itself, very colourful. The Pyramid is huge and not overly crowded with tourists. Unfortunately, the tunnels were closed when we visited but it was worthwhile walking around the base of the pyramid.

If you're in Puebla you must take some time to visit the pyramid of Cholula. In addition to the historical significance, you can get some great views from the top of the hill.

It's a very nice place to visit during a weekend getaway, less than a day is needed to do it. We got there early in the morning and after two to three hours we were over. The view from the top of the hill is really nice, and enjoy the architecture of the church. We also got to visit the... More

This is not your average pyramid, but it's still worth a visit. The view looks more like a regular mountain with a structure at its peak. There is a beautiful museum right next to this place that you should definitely visit to learn about what this Great Pyramid of Cholula is all about, in order to appreciate all of its... More

I have heard variations on the story of whether the Spaniards knew the site was man made or not. Either way the pyramid is huge. One of the most photographed places in Mexico - the church on top with Popocatépetl in the background. Very difficult to mimic this shot unless you try early in the morning after it has rained

No-one knows it exists. At least outside Mexico. Yet, it's the biggest (my volume) pyramid in the world. Only small portition of it has been dug from the ground because on top of the hill that covers it is a church. You can enter the tunnels of the pyramid also, to travel through it, although, only small part of the... More

Only a small portion of the entire complex has been processed. I still highly recommend it for those interested in archaeology. It would take years to finish excavating, but what has been exposed is well worth the trip.

I took the tourist train from Puebla to the pyramid in Cholula. The end station in Cholula was right next to the base of the pyramid. From the station it was easy to navigate around the pyramid area. The views from the train were interesting to see the two cities from a different view points aka perspective. The mountains were... More

For both of my group study abroad trips to central Mexico, we spent our first full day in Cholula, with most of the time spent at the base and atop the pyramid. The Great Pyramid (though resembling a tree covered miniature mountain) can be seen for quite some distance away, with the yellow church at the peak attracting most of... More

This is probably the worst tourist site I've visited in 2 months in Mexico. The entrance is now M$70 (same as Teotihuacan) to get in, good luck finding the entry to the site, nothing is marked and you need to keep walking around till you stumble across it. The outdoor archeological site can be seen from the street through a... More
