This is a very tired reptile 'zoo' with small concrete style enclosures, hard to find lizards and the saddest solo monkey in a cage I have seen in a long while. This kind of establishment may have been acceptable 30 years ago but it no longer is. The entrance fee is expensive and the site is very steep. I know... More

Great creepy crawlers everywhere up top by entrance plus turtles galore. Follow the paths down to the bigger beauties - crocs/lizards/monkeys/ etc. climb back up. So not good if your legs not working prop!!! d

The reptile park just out of Matakana is well worth a visit. They have a great variety of reptiles from New Zealand and around the world. The reptiles are well cared for and easy to see. It is great for a relaxing time out in nature with stunning views out to the ocean as well. Booking on line saves you... More

We were lucky with the weather and the feeding times, as most of the reptiles were sun basking or feeding. The only animal we didn't see, was the monkey, but at 40 years old, he was probably sleeping!

We visited the reptile park today and found it ok. The park is small but has a great collection which delighted us all. The views of the ocean are divine. Unfortunately, the other person who visited with us couldn't see the whole park due to mobility issues - there are many steps with seats along the track, however, if you... More

We visited this place with our 4 children aged 17,15,12 and 10. They all seemed to enjoy themselves. The man running the place was very friendly. The turtles were cool. Be prepared to walk up some steep stairs. But it is worth it, you get to see a monkey. My husband thought this place might be a bit lame, but... More

We took our 10yr old granddaughter who loves reptiles and had a conducted tour while there. Ivan spent 2 and a 1/4 hrs telling us all about the reptiles and pointing out ones we would have missed on our own. He gave Kate reptiles to hold and she helped find turtles hiding in their holes. It was thanks to Ivan's... More

It didn't look much from the outside and I balked a bit at the $20 entry for adults and $10 for kids, but once inside we were very impressed. It goes back a long way and it is quite a walk through the bush to the back of the park. We saw a large amount of geckos, skinks, dragons, turtles,... More
