Skied heer for many years, but never seen it with so little snow. EVery skier should make this trip just to see the difference between summer and winter and how much snow this mountain need to make this resort work

This is basically a ski hub in winter with parking, equipment hire, cafes, chairlift facilities all jostling for space. In summer it is less of a bustle and you can actually find some nice clothing and souvenir stores also.

We rode the skilift to the top in March, which was very inexpensive. There are walking trails at the top as well as a restaurant with incredible views.

Took the chairlift to the top and then hiked the Sky Walk to the rest of the way up from the cafe. The view was awesome. For Hobbit and Lord of the Rings fans this is a must do!, as you get a fantastic view of what was Mt. Doom in the movies.

At the time of our visit the area had no snow but it looks like a fun place to visit once they have snow as all facilities are available for skiers Fro cable lifts to restaurants

We rode the chairlift to the top. Spent about an hour there. Beautiful day, and gorgeous views all around.

A ski area that is popular with people from the North Island but is not as good as the best South Island ski places. 10 or so chairlifts and T bars, good views, OK cafes, but unreliable weather.

A great walk from the top of the chair lift. The cost was a little expensive at $30 per adult. Although it's free to catch it down. The walk up was a mixture of walking on volcanic rock and snow. But the view at the top was totally worth it. Took about 1.5 to walk up. There are no marked... More

We had a sudden break in the weather that had pinned us down below 1000 mtrs all week so we took the opportunity to visit Mr Ruapehu and go up to the top. Is turned out to be sunny but still very chilly at the top with a very strong gust wind which blew the lifts around. The operator at... More
