If you have the extra cash I would definitely recommend the heli-hike on Franz Josef Glacier. It's expensive, true but the glacier is so beautiful with ice formations and colours. You won't appreciate the beauty of it if you only see it from the valley....More

If you haven’t been just do the two glaciers. The information from our pilot is that it is always windy and most times you don’t get too close to Mount Cook anyways! Otherwise it is a spectacular trip and well worth it.

Hi William, We have a seasonal office in Twizel which is closed at the moment. The nearest base would be Glentanner, on your way to Mount Cook.
