We visited here to see some of the Allman Brothers history and were highly impressed with the scenery, topography and unique headstones. By far, this was the most unique cemetery I've ever visited. A work of caution, however; the side roads are VERY narrow and...More

In Macon, they treat their dead better than the living: this cemetery is lovelier than any park in Macon. Too bad. If you have only one day in Macon, check it out.

This is such a wonderfully interesting cemetery stroll-- beautiful, peaceful, interesting historical, nice connections to recent culture, and on and on. Try to do one of the guided tours conducted by Jim Barfield before you start visiting, and you will, on your own.

This was our favorite stop in Macon. It seems to go on forever and is the final resting place for many famous and influential people. It's a definite must stop on your next visit.
