The sheer steepness of the hike up Ensign Peak is a surprise given that it's below the elevation of the surrounding mountains, but thankfully it is a short one and you get an almost 270 degree view of the valley floor once you arrive.

I arrived early for a conference and wanted to do a hike, but didn't have a car. I chose to do Ensign Peak as it is close to downtown. I didn't account for the uphill climb to the trailhead :) but it was a great...More

.8 miles up and down may seem short, however, the terrain is difficult and you will get a workout. Loved the climb, stopped along the way, with room on path for people to continue up/down without getting in the way. The views at the top...More

A walk to the top of the park - Ensign Peak is a must. On a stunning day it gives you a great view of Salt Lake City and the Lake. Worth the walk!

We decided to do this short hike. Had to stop a few times to catch our breath since we are sea-level dwellers, but once we made it (about 25 minutes) we stayed atop just admiring the view of the whole valley. It’s well worth the...More

The hike is not bad at all, in fact it is classified as Easy but for a 50 plus guy like me it was a little huff and a little puff. I think it was about 1.2 miles round trip from the first stair to...More

Hike is short, but steep, so it's tougher than you think it would be. The views are great from the top and the plaques are interesting to read for historical information. We stopped up to view the sunset and were not disappointed.

I decided to hike this on my last day in SLC. It was a bit warm that day, but with water both me and my pup had no problems. I was a bit confused with the path because there were arrows but no writing to...More

Great hike of less than a mile one way for wonderful views -- but steep. Short paved trail also available for the less adventurous. Don't miss the short paved walk on the other side of the road with new interesting plaques about the area. Nice...More

This is in a neighborhood. The trailhead is on a residential street with limited parking. With houses right across the street. There is nothing stopping you from parking there but depending on how long the RV is it might... More
