great shopping

Good selection of stores to choose from for any age. Pretty much anything you want you can buy right in at The Gateway.

We used to love traveling to SLC to shop. Gateway was one of our favorite shopping stops. Now it has many closed shops and is looking a bit ran down.

The Gateway is a lovely outdoor mall with several restaurants and shops. Perfect time to go is on a nice day.

Sadly, this once great place to shop, see a movie and get dinner has declined so far I'm not sure they can recover. Escalators have been out of order for at least two years... don't believe signs saying they are fixing them, they never get fixed. Homeless population is is out of control across the street that you don't feel... More

I haven't been to SLC for a few years and am in town on business. The Gateway use to be such a gorgeous outdoor mall with lots of shops and activities. It's so run down, empty and overrun by homeless, that it's like a zombie apocalypse occurred and everyone evacuated. Two thirds of the shops are vacant, Jason's Deli closed... More

We only had a few minutes. And happened upon this beautiful lost in time station. It was so desolate yet still held such history. Just walked around looking at the magnificent stained glass windows. And listened to our daughter's voice echoing like never before as she sung for us. We'll never forget this place.

An outdoor mall. There are different shops and restaurants (including a food court) in this place. We walked from our hotel to the mall. When you see a Route 66 sign, go through the doors and you'll see the mall. When you entered the first door (before you get the mall), you'll see two big pictures on either end, which... More

Stopped at the large Barnes and Noble bookstore at major street entrance on upper level next to former UP RR station. Food court was on opposite end, a bit difficult to find and had only a few selections -- Panda Express was good.

Still a great place to catch a movie and they have a nice variety of restaurants to grab a bite before a jazz game or stadium event. The planetarium and discovery gateway are there and are nice places to take your kids to. This used to be my favorite downtown hotspot for about a decade. I've only been a few... More
