Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium!...

Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium! Thousands of animals representing over 320 different species are ready to enchant, entertain, and inspire you. Corpus Christi's most popular cultural attraction has welcomed over 12 million visitors since its grand opening in July 1990. Conveniently located on North Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from Corpus Christi's downtown district, convention center complex, and museums. The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Every visit to the Texas State Aquarium is a new and exciting discovery of animals that remind us all of our responsibility to those whose world we share. The Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is federally permitted and operates under rigorous standards established by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each year, thousands of protected, endangered or threatened species along the Texas coast become ill or injured. Most are brought to our facility with problems caused directly or indirectly by humans. The goal of the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Program is to rehabilitate, and whenever possible, return the animals to their natural environment. The Aquarium is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Aquarium's mission is to engage people with animals, inspire appreciation for our seas, and support wildlife conservation.

We were able to touch jelly fish, tiny sharks, and feed stingrays by hand! They do outdoor shows every 30 minutes with the dolphins, sea turtles, otters, birds & sting rays. The exhibits inside were beautiful and everyone we came across was very nice and knowledgeable. Plus, they have a Starbucks in the Lobby! We were not that excited about... More

Seemed over priced for what exhibits were actually open. Several exhibits were closed. Website showed 1 price but when we got there it was much higher. Yes u can touch some stuff but to me it wasn't as educational as i would have thought.

This isn't a HUGE aquarium (although they are in the process of expanding it), but what they do have there is super cute and perfect for kids! It's easy to spend 3-4 hours there if you attend the shows that they have. I really liked all the hands-on portions of the exhibits. Great for children and adults alike! Absolutely worth... More

Thank you for your visit and your review. You are correct - we are on the verge of opening Caribbean Journey on May 13, which will more than double our size and feature several new exhibits, including animal encounters with flamingos, bats, sharks, fish, and other species. As you said, there's plenty to do right now at the Aquarium, especially... More

I didn't expect it to be this small, but it was really well laid out and had sea creatures I had never seen before even in much larger aquariums! I loved the dolphin show being in a smaller setting. Great way to spend the afternoon!!

A small but nice aquarium, a great attraction that keeps families busy. Lots to do and see and can get through it in a short amount of time.

Staff is extremely helpful and we had a great time. Being able to touch some of the sea life is interesting and hands on. The dolphins were nice and there show entertaining. It's not as large as some other aquariums but it was worth the price of admission.

Really really crowded on a Saturday afternoon, must come early or late. Unable to see fish tanks due to many strollers inside the fish area.

We enjoyed the shows that were put on expecially the dolphins. I think there should be a little more to offer for the money of admission, hoping the construction that is in progress will provide that.
