Attended Ridley Rendezvous on Padre Island and witnessed hatchlings and rehabed turtles in the wild. Event was very well organized. Beaches were clean. Lots of learning opportunities.

So many beach visitors but it was pleasant! Loved being able to drive on the sand safely without paying for a temporary permit. Appreciated the wooden covers for handicap areas next to the ADA parking spots. There were several that I saw - wow!

I think you’ll be fine. The sand is very hard packed, like a dirt road. I had a rental with no WD so I didn’t go past the beach area they recommended, but I think you’ll be fine.

Holiday Inn Express N. Padre Island and Home Suites are both just a short drive to the National Seashore and short walk to the beach.
