A lot of flowering plants and native plants to the area. Good presentation and walk ways are easy to walk.

The Botanical Gardens are breathtaking and beautifully laid out for enjoyment of so many different plants, a parrot show, green houses of orchids, plumerias, and many other beautiful plants. It is not only educational to see the many varieties, but relaxing and entertaining! I always love going there to see the beauty and enjoy going through the gift shop to... More

When you look at the South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Trail from the outside, it doesn't look like much. Inside it offers more than you'd expect. Yes, there are plenty of plants, but few botanical gardens offer animals. We were greeted by a sulfur crested cockatoo, one of the 40+ parrots on location. There are also reptiles, tortoises, hummingbirds... More

We arrived in corpus after a long drive and decided to stretch our legs. The garden was the right choice. We enjoyed the 'talking' birds, the serenity garden and the orchids were our favorites. Sorry, but on our visit, there were just a few butterflies present.

The gardens are reasonably well kept but the equipments and landscaping is starting to be old and falling apart. Particularly the boardwalks. Some of the plamts are quite beautiful, others need pruning and tending. The grounds have enough to keep you busy for 90 minutes.

Our group of eight (adult male, teen male, senior female, adult females, young teen females) all loved our impromptu visit to this treasure. We were surprised by the many birds, including talking parrots and other beautiful specimens, that could be fed, as well as the variety of areas, each with unique plants, to explore. I loved the sensory garden and... More

Didn't really know what to expect but we love gardens so there we were. Never have I seen such a large collection of plumeria trees in one place, outside of the Hawaiian islands! Beautiful blooms with a raised walkway so you are right up where you can see the flowers up close. Amazing display. Enjoyed the birds, two of which... More

This is a great, inexpensive, morning getaway no matter if you're visiting the area or live here. We will definitely go back later in the year and again in the spring! I recommend going in the morning before it gets too hot or as late as possible unless it is early spring or late fall. They have a menagerie of... More

I enjoyed the gardens. The orchid conservatory was beautiful, i really enjoyed the variety of orchids they had. and We got there just in time to hold a macaw and another small type of parrot as they bring them out at scheduled times. There were no butterfly's in the butterfly enclosure at the time, maybe the time of year. You... More

When we arrived and paid the girl was, less than enthusiastic. The first place we went into had some reptiles, their cages were dirty and it seemed very poorly set up. As we continued on, the staff continued to be, non friendly. But more than that alot of the plants were dead.and dried up. The "wet lands" looked like a... More
