Great beautiful beach part is free drive on entering in the Padre Island National Seashore before the fee booth. The other half is national park fee area.

This is the nicest section of the Padre Island National Seashore. No cars are allowed so the sand is much nicer. The rangers at the ranger station are very friendly and helpful.

Out of the way, but clean and quiet. Great views, picnic tables, showers. Go on the off season, avoid the crowds and see the beauty.

Understandably off the beaten track (phones do not work) but well worth the trek. Rarely crowded and a great place to kick back and enjoy the Gulf. Bring a kite - the winds are endless.

It was a pretty long drive over a pretty long bridge, but the trip was worth it. Very beautiful sand nice breeze. Though a large crowd there was plenty of room to stretch out. Also has restrooms available.

We stopped to go in the Visitor's Center. There was a Park Ranger there outside doing demonstrations and answering questions. The bathrooms were clean, there are areas for showering, picnicking, swimming. There are a couple of observation decks to look up and down the beach.
