Wish we would have rented a place here

This inn sets in a beautiful park. With very lovely views. This would be an awesome place to stay maybe next time we go.

This old historic place is a nice visit to see how tourist need were met years ago... But there is not much happening today... Why not have the soda shop operational?

A small bit of architecture among the wide open vistas. Only walked around outside a bit. Was much more interested in soaking up those beautiful open vistas. Very windy there.

This place is somewhere to stop whilst driving through the painted desert. There are bathrooms and also some short trails from which you can view the colored cliffs of the painted desert.

This inn is an okay stop along the road through Petrified. It is interesting to see the old kitchen and restaurant area how they were decades ago. The area of stained glass is nice. Looks like there are plans to put in an ice cream bar in on the bottom floor. Nice view of the desert out the back of... More

From hear, the view of the painted desert is vast and quiet. It is an excellent sunset photo-opportunity.

The Painted Desert Inn offers a unique experience of the building's 100-year-old past including as a singular stop on the old Route 66 through beautiful desert terrain. The extraordinary efforts to protect and preserve the building are well worth the effort.

Cute little historical stop, and the volunteers were friendly and knew a lot of interesting things to share. Nice warm bathrooms in the winter (priorities!).

The building was cool to see. Sadly I did not have time to stop in but it was cool to see the area. Got to take pictures of the landscape

There is quite a bit of history to this, but just walking in you understand where the Pixar movie Cars gets the inspiration. The Cone Motel, curios shop, neon, Lightning McQueen retro paint job, and Route 66 photos and artwork are all here. The Harvey History is great to learn and they are remodelling to open up a cafe.
