We must have picked the wrong day to see the museum. The screaming and running about by little kids uninterested in the exhibits was distracting. The parents definitely needed to do a better job supervising their little ones. That being said, the science and history that centered on New Mexico was very well done. We enjoyed the approach of going... More

The NM Museum of Natural History is a must see for folks with children or an interest in the archaeological & geologic (or even computer) history of New Mexico. We most recently watched the Polar Express on the IMAX screen. They do a great job.

Found this museum to be very interesting - I especially enjoyed walking through the exhibits that related unique facts about NM (e.g. Chaco Canyon and the sun alignments - very fascinating!). As another reviewer said, the scale models of the solar system were very cool. I remember learning about the solar system when I was in school and making my... More

I was bit surprised at the size. I expected the museum to be bigger. We enjoyed our visit very much. They had a huge depiction of what the earth would look like if it had no water. Scale models of our solar system and much more. I am glad we visited the museum.

We typically make it a point to visit natural history museums, and this is one of the best we've seen. Not as good as the one in Denver, but it provides a wealth of geological/anthropological information in a pleasant setting. One of the volunteers working on uncovering some fossilized bones came out and provided a lot of information about their... More

I enjoyed learning about how Microsoft were involved in an early business venture with MITS in Albuquerque. Didnt know this. I think this is a traveling exhibit, so you might want to check if this is your reason for going.

This was very interesting on how the earth was created, goes through the dinosaur era, to how volcanoes erupt. Great spot to spend a couple of hours.

I actually liked this more than I expected. Free parking and then it leads you on a journey through time which is pretty cool. It's well done with material to read & watch it you choose or you can just glance over it & get the idea. Good for kids but keep any eye on them they are in a... More
