Explora is an innovative learning place, part science center, part children's museum, providing fun, truly hands-on activities in science, technology, and art for people of all ages, from toddlers to teens to adults. We have an early childhood learning area, including a special area for toddlers to explore, and children and adults enjoy not only our two main floors of exhibit activities, but our outdoor decks with views, giant building blocks, playground patio, and gift shop filled with entertaining and educational items great for at home or travel fun. We offer after-school, home school, and early childhood classes, plus winter, spring, and summer camps for kids. Located in Albuquerque's historic Old Town, Explora has free parking and is perfectly situated for a walk to the nearby park, shops, and restaurants.

We close Jan 1, July 4, the week after labor day, Thanksgiving, Dec. 25.

We close early at 2pm Dec. 24 & 31.

It was just me and the wife visiting here but it was a lot of fun. They had things for all ages. With kids you could spend hours in here. There is a lot to do. They even have adult nights. So I suggest this for kids of all ages.

As members, it is always nice to go to Explora because we don't feel pressured to stay for any longer than our toddler is comfortable staying for--that makes it nice as they can get antsy. There are many activities for the 2-3 age group and it seems like even more for around middle school age groups. A fun place to... More

Wonderful place for hands on activities for children of all ages to explore how things work, from strictly mechanical to some water play to sound experiments. They even have some occasional nights for adults only. Always an interesting visit.

We took my granddaughter here, and she wanted to stay all day. She couldn't tear herself away from some of the exhibits. Although she was too short to ride the high-wire biccycle, there were plenty of other things to do. She learned how to fly an airplane with a 3-foot-wingspan model plane in a wind tunnel, and how airspeed going... More

We visited Explora well over a year ago. This place just gets better! I love that they maintain and change out the different exhibits and activities they have for the kids. It's really great too that they have a cordoned off place for the smaller children to play. I really wish we lived in Albuquerque so we could further utilize... More

We took our grandchildren here last summer. They loved it so much they begged to go back the next day. It is pricey but so worth it!
