I drove over from Santa Fe to buy several (5) books on how to build a house. When I got back to SF, I discovered two of the were the very similar. But when went back there to return one of them a few days later, the cashier told me they would not give me a refund, and she accused... More

They are still hanging in there even with the advent of the e-book sellers. They used to be much larger and even had a separate building for used books. While not as big as they used to be they still have an excellent variety of books and gifts.

We return to this bookstore every year when we go to Albuquerque. It is a very good place to browse. They have a wide selection of real books from classics through sci-fi. The sections are well organized. The staff is knowledgeable. There is an antiquarian section of rare and first editions with a separate entry within the store. Check their... More

This was once a really great bookstore but as with all bookstores the e-book just about killed this store. After downsizing and moving to a smaller location they still have a great selection of books and miscellaneous stuff.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff and excellent selection. There's a reason that Page 1 has been a Albuquerque's go-to independent bookstore for 30-some years.

Albuquerque is lucky to be a city of readers, and Page One Books is a treasure. This independent bookstore is well-stocked, well-organized, and inviting, without the crammed "crowded attic" feel of many otherwise wonderful bookstores. If you're in Albuquerque, check it out!

We having been coming to the area for years and used to look forward to going to this interesting independent book store. On the last trip, we were very disappointed--the stock is minimal with few choices. It just seemed to have seen better days--maybe it is the economy. Sadly, we left and went to the large chain bookstores for more... More
